WHAT ARE YOU TREATING YOURSELF TO POST-COVID?

6/18/2022

Hi lovely people!
I think it's safe to say the last two years have been pretty rough. I am a very positive and optimistic person, but there's no other way to say it - it's been really rough. Whether you or someone you know had COVID, or you lost your job and are now struggling with unemployment, or dealing with any other consequences of this horrible virus that shocked everyone, we have to admit it's been really hard - mentally, emotionally and physically.

Thankfully, we can slowly say some people are getting their lives back on track, with new jobs and a new more positive and grateful look on life, even though there are still a lot of terrible things happening in the world. At least we can say that COVID is killing less and less people, which has given most people newfound hope. The economy on the other hand, has been hit hard all over the world and now inflation is a big problem, but how much this effects you really depends on the industry you work in. I think everyone will feel it at least a bit at some point, but some industries definitely more than others.

In all this craziness, I think it's so important to also remember to take care yourself. Mental health issues can creep up on us very quietly, so finding something small that makes you happy is crucial, no matter how difficult the situation is. If you are in a position where you are able to treat yourself to something nice and useful, definitely do it because you deserve it. It could be something as simple as spending more time in the nature or buying something you have wanted for a long time to reward yourself for hard work and staying strong.

Fashion lovers, this one's for you!

Us girls know there's nothing better than treating ourselves to a new handbag or a pair of shoes after a big achievement or a milestone in your life. I know I am definitely the kind of person who will always get cheered up with pretty things. And even though this is usually not the type of happiness that lasts long, it really is a great thing to look back on this beautiful item and remember that special moment in your life. To me this item is not just an item, it's a memory. I love shopping on various websites, including Farfetch and Net-a-porter.
I find that you always value more things that you buy yourself because it's your own achievement and you proved yourself that you can do it. If you ask me, nothing says post-COVID positivity like a pair of new cool shoes or a new trendy bag!

If you're thinking about getting a new car...

With the fuel prices going up, it might seem like a crazy time to buy a new car, but for some people it will be the right time. Maybe you just got a promotion and want to treat yourself, or your old car just died... Anyway, you need a new car. In these types of situations I think it's crucial to have a clear budget in mind, calculate what your monthly payment would be, etc. Before you start anything, it's really important to have everything figured out so there are no uncomfortable surprises later. There are so many online resources that can help you with figuring that out, or you can always ask a friend or a family member for additional help if they are experts in this area. There are even websites where you can calculate your fuel cost, and pretty much all you could need before getting a new car!

Exercising and free time

Treating yourself doesn't always have to result in getting something material. For example, Swedish Massage in Hillsboro, OR would be a great way to unwind. Taking time for yourself, exercising, and spending time with your loved ones are also ways how you can treat yourself and take care of your mental health, especially if you are a very busy person.
When it comes to exercising, my choice is always yoga and it definitely feels like a treat every time I do it. Yoga is a mental and physical treat, if you ask me. Another relaxing activity could be to take a long walk in the woods or visit your favorite park. Nothing calms us down like nature.

However you choose to treat yourself for hard work in the post-covid times, I'm sure you'll make the best decision for yourself! Let me know your thoughts...

xoxo Sienna
